"Boardroom Nº1"

€280.00

"Boardroom Nº1" is an abstract reflection of resilience, determination, and the dynamic energy found in corporate environments. The painting captures the duality of structured ambition and unrestrained creativity—a balance I honed over my 30-year journey as a female leader navigating boardrooms in a demanding, male-dominated corporate world.

The composition mirrors the controlled unpredictability of my career and life. Organic grids and fluid cells—hallmarks of my unique soak-stain and gravity technique—are arranged to evoke a sense of structure breaking into spontaneity, much like the unspoken power struggles, collaboration, and breakthroughs that define leadership spaces. The repetition of forms symbolizes both the rigidity of corporate hierarchies and the adaptability required to thrive within them.

The color palette speaks to the emotions of this space: deep blue-greens and truqoises exude the weight of responsibility and authority, while flashes of vibrant ellows / oranges and fiery oranges celebrate moments of triumph, joy, and transformation. These bold, unexpected hues break through the restrained tones, representing the energy and empowerment I found in embracing my identity as a woman in leadership.

Why I Painted "Boardroom Nº1"?
This painting emerged as a deeply personal exploration of my experiences in the executive world—an arena of high stakes and constant evolution. I wanted to channel the tension between structure and intuition, as well as the courage it takes to lead authentically, particularly as a woman. The organic forms, born from gravity and fluid motion, reflect the inherent messiness of navigating such spaces, while the grid patterns highlight the frameworks we work within to achieve balance and progress.

"Boardroom Nº1" invites the viewer to feel both the intensity and the liberation of these moments. It’s a call to reflect on the unseen networks of power, resilience, and humanity that hold us together in professional spaces, and to celebrate the breakthroughs that come when boldness meets structure.

The observer might feel a mix of introspection and empowerment when engaging with "Boardroom." The interplay of colors and forms creates an emotional depth that resonates with the highs and lows of leadership. It is a tribute to the unseen yet transformative efforts that women—and anyone in leadership—undertake to balance vision, authenticity, and impact. At its heart, "Boardroom" reflects the beauty of growth and interconnectedness that emerges from even the most demanding environments.

Through this painting, I share my belief that creativity and leadership are not opposites but complementary forces—both shaped by resilience, adaptation, and the courage to redefine boundaries.

About Sonia J.

My art is deeply personal, shaped by a 30-year journey of leadership in boardrooms, navigating the resilience, strength, and creativity demanded by the corporate world—especially as a woman in roles often defined by challenge and transformation. Engaging with the canvas mirrors the dynamism of those experiences: I move around it with intent, creating a balance of controlled unpredictability, where each motion—though seemingly spontaneous—is imbued with purpose and clear intention.

Through soak-stain techniques and the natural pull of gravity, I craft fluid grids and organic patterns that reflect the rhythm of life and the networks of connection we navigate daily. These elements are inspired by biology and nature, particularly cells, which I see as metaphors for growth, resilience, and the unseen systems that sustain us. The repetition of these forms symbolizes not only the interconnectedness of our environments but also the empowerment that comes from embracing complexity and persistence—qualities I’ve drawn upon throughout my career.

Incorporating bold and vibrant palettes, my work celebrates the evolution of abstract art, moving beyond strict geometric forms into the organic and fluid. This shift parallels my personal journey: breaking through rigid expectations, embracing creativity, and finding empowerment in authenticity. Each piece becomes a celebration of transformation, freedom, and the strength found in interconnectedness, whether in nature, society, or within oneself.

My paintings invite viewers to reflect on the unseen networks that connect us all—whether in the corporate boardroom, in nature, or within personal growth. They also encourage introspection, offering a space to explore emotions, longings, and possibilities. While each observer is free to interpret the work in their own way, one universal experience emerges: the feeling of losing oneself in the intricate interplay of cells, grids, and organic forms. In this timeless space, the boundaries between structure and spontaneity dissolve, mirroring the delicate balance I’ve lived—where leadership meets creativity, resilience meets joy, and empowerment becomes art.

Enjoy!
Thank you!
